Accessibility
Last updated: May 2026
This statement describes NationRepair's commitment to accessibility, the standards we aim to meet, known limitations of our site, and how you can report an issue.
1. Our Commitment to Accessibility
NationRepair is committed to making nationrepair.net accessible to all U.S. users, including those who rely on assistive technologies such as screen readers, keyboard navigation, screen magnifiers, voice control, or alternative input devices. We believe practical, plain-English repair information should be available to everyone, regardless of ability or browsing setup.
Accessibility is treated as part of our normal editorial and design process — not as an afterthought. When we add new pages, components, or features, we test them against the criteria below before publishing.
2. Conformance Status
NationRepair aims to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Level AA, published by the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C). WCAG 2.1 AA is the standard most commonly referenced by U.S. accessibility laws and federal guidance, and it covers the needs of people with a wide range of disabilities.
Specifically, the site is built to:
- Provide meaningful text alternatives for non-decorative images.
- Maintain sufficient color contrast in both light and dark themes.
- Be fully operable using a keyboard alone, with a visible focus indicator.
- Use semantic HTML headings, landmarks, and ARIA attributes so assistive technologies can navigate the page.
- Respect user preferences such as reduced motion and theme choice.
3. Known Limitations
We are continuously working to improve accessibility, and some areas of the site are still being refined. Known limitations at the time of this statement include:
- A small number of older guide pages may use heading levels inconsistently. We are auditing and correcting these as part of routine content review.
- Some embedded illustrations and diagrams have brief alt text rather than long descriptions. Where the surrounding article text already explains the image in detail, this is intentional; otherwise we are expanding alt text on a rolling basis.
- Third-party content (such as ads served by external networks when advertising cookies are accepted) is outside our direct control and may not always meet WCAG 2.1 AA.
If you encounter a barrier that is not listed above, we would like to hear about it.
4. How to Report an Accessibility Issue
If something on the site is hard or impossible for you to use, please tell us. Email support@nationrepair.net with:
- The page URL where you encountered the issue.
- A short description of the problem and what you were trying to do.
- The browser, operating system, and any assistive technology you were using (if you know).
We prioritize fixes that affect core reading and navigation.
5. Changes to This Statement
We may update this accessibility statement as the site evolves and as we make further improvements. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision.
